Microsoft appears to be taking another step toward making handheld gaming a bigger part of the XBOX ecosystem.

After recently adding handheld support to 58 additional titles in the XBOX Store, the company has now started displaying a new “XBOX Handheld” logo on official game pages, according to VideoCardz. The badge has already appeared on several high-profile titles, including Gears of War: E-Day, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and State of Decay 3.

The new label is visible in the “Ways to play” section of supported games. It appears alongside existing platform badges such as XBOX Game Pass, XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, and Steam.

New Badge Could Make Handheld Compatibility Easier to Spot

The addition of a dedicated handheld logo gives players a clearer way to identify games that are designed to work well on portable Windows gaming devices.

Some game pages displaying the badge also reference devices such as the ROG XBOX Ally and ROG XBOX Ally X, suggesting that Microsoft wants to make compatibility information more visible for handheld users.

While Microsoft already operates a handheld compatibility program, it previously lacked a prominent badge that could quickly communicate support directly on game store pages.

For players browsing the XBOX Store, the new label could remove much of the guesswork when deciding whether a title is suitable for gaming on the go.

More Signs of Microsoft’s Handheld Strategy

The new branding arrives as Microsoft continues to invest in portable gaming experiences.

Although the badge does not confirm reports of a dedicated first-party XBOX handheld, it adds to growing speculation that Microsoft is laying the groundwork for broader handheld gaming ambitions.

By introducing clearer compatibility labels and expanding the number of supported titles, Microsoft appears to be building a more recognizable ecosystem around handheld gaming devices that run XBOX experiences.

The company has not announced any new handheld hardware alongside the badge, but the move suggests that portable gaming is becoming a more visible part of the XBOX strategy.

XBOX Continues Highlighting New Features and Games

The handheld badge is not the only recent change users have noticed. Microsoft has also started highlighting XBOX exclusives more prominently on the dashboard, making it easier for players to discover platform-specific titles.

Meanwhile, the platform is preparing for a busy week, with 24 new games scheduled to launch on XBOX between June 23 and June 26.

Taken together, the updates show Microsoft continuing to refine how players discover games across console, PC, cloud, and now handheld devices.
