Monolith Soft has officially unveiled Xenoblade Genesis during today’s Nintendo Direct, marking the next major entry in the Xenoblade series.

The reveal was one of the biggest surprises from the presentation, with Nintendo and Monolith Soft also confirming that previous Xenoblade titles will be receiving additional content and improvements alongside the new game’s announcement. Details remain limited for now, but the reveal positions Xenoblade Genesis as the franchise’s next major RPG adventure.

The announcement comes as Nintendo continues to build out the Nintendo Switch 2 lineup. Xenoblade has become one of Nintendo’s most important RPG franchises over the past decade, and Genesis looks set to continue that legacy.

More information about the game’s story, gameplay systems, and release window is expected in the coming months.
