According to multiple online reports, it seems that there are various issues with Yahoo Messenger in Windows 10, especially with the video calling features. Here are a few potential fixes.
Many Windows users have been complaining that there still isn’t an official app for Yahoo! Messenger on the Windows Store, but the default program has proved to be ok so far. And there have been various other submissions to the Windows Store, although they weren’t official.
Leaving that aside, let’s talk about the issue at hand. Here’s what the affected user has been saying:
HI, AM UNABLE TO VIDEO CALL IN YAHOO MESSENGER 11 . AM USING WINDOWS 10. FOR AUDIO CALL NO PROBLEM. BUT IN VIDEO CALL VIDEO IS NOT WORKING(web camera). KINDLY HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
Others have been reporting that the video call button in grey and they can’t click on it. Of course, it goes without saying that the very first thing you need to do is to check whether you have the latest graphics drivers installed and, of course, if you’re running the latest version of Yahoo Messenger. Also, you can try and reinstall the software, as well.
If all this is good, then you need to try and start the program in Administrator mode. Right click on the .exe file, then select Properties>Compatibility>Change settings for all users, then add a checkbox to run this program as administrator and then click Apply.
Other users affected by this problem have been reporting that they managed to solve it by installing an older version of Yahoo messenger. You can also try refreshing your Windows 10, but make sure that you back up everything up before you proceed.
For the time being, this is all that we know regarding this problem. If you happen to know some other fixes, go ahead and leave your comment below and let us know which these are.
