Earlier this week, Microsoft released Windows 11 Insider Build 26200.5622 in the Dev Channel, and it quietly makes the Settings Home page a bit more practical. Alongside usual tweaks and widget upgrades, there’s a small change that might actually save you some time, knowing more about your PC.
Windows 11 Dev channel update brings ‘Your device info’ card right into the Settings app
A new “Your device info” card is now appearing right on the Home page of the Settings app. Instead of digging through menus, you’ll see key specs at a glance—processor, RAM, storage, graphics card, and video memory.
It also links straight to the full “About” section if you want more detailed hardware info, like your Windows edition and product ID.
This card builds on Microsoft’s earlier “Spec Cards” in Settings > About, but having the data front and center makes it much more useful. There’s also a new FAQ section on the About page for hardware-related questions.
While this update makes Settings more functional, not everyone’s a fan of how the Home page is shaping up. Some users have criticized the tile-based layout, calling it an ad center for Microsoft services like 365, OneDrive, and Game Pass.
The feature is rolling out gradually and only appears if you’re signed in with a Microsoft account in the U.S. If you’re running the latest build, it’s worth checking for. Moreover, the Dev channel Build 26200.5622 includes updates related to Quick Machine Recovery, new recommendations in the “Open with” menu, and widget improvements.
