What can I do if YouTube is not working in Brave?

1. Create a new profile

  1. Launch the Brave browser.
  2. Click on the 3-horizontal line menu icon.
  3. Select Create a new profile option.
  4. In the new window, you can do the following customizations:
    • Enter your profile name or set a label such as work, student, etc.
    • Choose your profile image.
    • Pick a theme color for your profile.
    • Choose whether you would like to add your profile as a desktop shortcut or not.
  5. After you have selected everything, hit the Done button.
  6. A new Brave browser page will open with your profile loaded along with your profile theme.
  7. Now, try opening YouTube and check if this fixes the YouTube not working on the Brave browser issue or not.

2. Clear host cache

  1. Open Brave browser.
  2. In the Address bar, type or paste the below command. brave://net-internals/#dns
  3. Click the Clear host cache button.

3. Close idle sockets, and Flush socket pools

  1. Open Brave browser.
  2. In the Address bar, type or paste the below command. brave://net-internals/#sockets
  3. One by one, click on the Close idle sockets and then Flush socket pools buttons.

For several users, clearing the idle sockets and flush socket pools helped resolve the YouTube not working in Brave error.

How do you get YouTube to play in the background on the Brave browser?

  1. Launch Brave browser.
  2. Click on the 3-dot icon at the bottom toolbar.
  3. Tap on Settings.
  4. Scroll down and under General, toggle on Background video playback.
  5. Tap on RELAUNCH NOW.
