The Windows Store is filled with problems and issues after the Windows 8.1 update for many users. One of them says he is received an error code 0x8004005 and that the Windows Store doesn’t open at all
We have talked about similar woes before, but this is the first time we are talking about a specific error code. Previously, we have explained how to fix the Windows 8 Store so that it could open. Also, we’ve explained how to activate and display all Windows Store apps and how to see featured apps in the Windows Store.
This time we bump across a specific Windows Store error that gives the following code – 0x8004005 & HERESULT : 0x80073CFE. Here’s what the user who first spotted it is saying (excuse his poor English):
hi, upgrade windows 8.1 pro from windows 8. it was work fine for few days. but since last week my windows store not work. i am getting error of “something happened and windows store is no longer working might need to refresh windows on your pc” when i try to refresh its saying ” Insert Medial some files are missing” i don’t have any media as i upgrade windows 8.1 from windows stores and it was upgrade without any Error.
Even after upgrade it was running fine for few days. my all other apps working fine only i get trouble to start windows store.
i deed many research and development to solve this problem, even i uninstall my “Kasper Sky internet Security” also try “Wsreset.exe” also try “powershell….command given on micro soft solution & support sites but till i get problem. when i rub powershell command i got “Err : Add -Appxpackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CFE, The package repository is corrupted.
Error -550: windows can not process a deployment operation because the package repository database encounter an ESENT error.use the reset your pc feature to recover your pc. i don’t want to re-install windows 8.1 pro. also i don’t have any ISO file of windiws 8.1 pro. please give me solution of this error.
So, as we can see, he also received the Error -550 in Windows 8.1, as well as the HRESULT: 0x80073CFE. I am also running Windows 8.1 Pro but this hasn’t happened to me. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
