4 New Games Are Coming to Xbox This Week (January 5–9)
Xbox is entering 2026 at a slow pace, as this week’s game launches won’t be that eye-popping. However, you’ll get some of the intriguing indie titles that are worth keeping an eye on. Here’s what’s coming to Xbox this week (from January 5 through January 9).
- I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival: The game will drop on January 8, and it’s all about “relaxing survival.” The game is set in a flooded, post-apocalyptic city that lets you build a rooftop base rather than fighting for your life. You can grow crops, do fish farming, and tinker with new tools and gadgets. More importantly, you will manage a team of adorable robots to automate your rooftop base.
- Hero Seekers: The game will land on Xbox on January 9, in which you can expect turn-based combat, dungeon crawling, and party management. You can build a squad of at least five heroes, each with different traits and abilities. It’s worth noting that the game is now available to pre-order for $17.99.
- Owlen and the Spirits of the Past: This game is all about emotional experience. You play as Owlen, which is a small owl traveling through mystical worlds guided by ancient spirits. You will fly through magical circles to bring life back to plants, trees, and wildlife. You can start playing this game on January 9, that’s when it will release on Xbox. Notably, the game is now available to pre-order for $9.59.
- S.P.E.A.R: This is the final game to release this week on Xbox, and it’s coming on January 9, too. It’s a fast-paced action-platformer that puts you in the role of an NPC armed with a makeshift spear, fighting glitches and solving puzzles to save his own game.
Sadly, Microsoft hasn’t announced any Game Pass additions for this week yet. But, we know that MIO: Memories in Orbit & Nova Roma will join Xbox Game Pass later this month. In fact, Xbox Game Pass is in for a busy 2026; check all the games coming this year. As the week progresses, we expect to hear more about it.
