  • Remote Desktop Connections Credentials cache – The credentials cache of RDP connections could also be the reason for the issue. Clear them to fix the problem.

1. Allow the remote connections to the computer

2. Verify that Remote access is enabled

  1. Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.

3. Flush the DNS

4. Delete the RDP connections history

  2. Type regedit and click OK to open the Registry Editor.
  3. Navigate to this path: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default

  5. Close Registry Editor and reboot your PC.

5. Add Hostname to the Host file

  2. Copy & paste the following command to open the hosts’ file in a notepad, and hit Enter: Notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hostsAdd host Remote Desktop Can't Find the Computer

  4. Press Ctrl + S to save the changes. Close Notepad, and then Command Prompt.

6. Allow Remote connection through the firewall

7. Change the Port number

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run window.Regedit Windows
  2. Type regedit and click OK to open the Registry Editor.
  3. Navigate to this path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp
  4. Locate and double-click PortNumber.regedit_change port number
  5. Change the Base to Decimal and the Value data from 3389 to 3388.
  6. Click OK and reboot your computer.

8. Enable the Remote Desktop Services

  2. Type services.msc and click OK to open the Services app.
  3. Locate and double-click Remote Desktop Services to open Properties.Remote desktop services
