2024 will bring more than a new Windows client (AI-based Windows 12, everyone): Microosft will be releasing a new Office client, Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024, according to new leaked images, provided by Windows enthusiast, @techosarusrex.

The images are seemingly confirmed by Microsoft, as the official Windows Insider Program X (formerly known as Twitter) profile commented on the leaked images.

The future is bright indeed.

The date of the release is yet to be announced, but Office 2024 will be out in Q3 or Q4, next year. It will include 7 apps of the Microsoft Suite package, including Word, Office, and PowerPoint.

New Office 2024 client: How does it compare to Microsoft 365?

A new Office 2024 client means that it could get into conflict with the existing Microsoft 365 Suite. The difference between them, however, should be enough to end this conflict, as Office products can be purchased on a standalone version, rather than going for a monthly subscription, as is the case with Microsoft 365.

Another difference would be the lack of certain features: for example, Microsoft 365 is getting Copilot this month, and Office 2024 might not get it, but we’ll have to wait for the official announcement from Microsoft, on this.Office 2024 client

However, the release of a new Office client should be good news for those users who want to own a license rather than pay a subscription, and it’s something that people have been requested for already.

2024 is also the year Microsoft is set to unveil the new Windows iteration, and it will most likely be AI-based. Copilot was recently added to Windows 11, and the AI tool will surely be on this Windows iteration, as well.

What do you think about the new Office client?
