Twitter or X, is a great platform for following certain creators or discovering news, but it has its limitations.
According to the Twitter employees, we might get some interesting changes in the feature regarding video playback.
Twitter engineer teases the ability to minimize videos
While watching videos on Twitter, you’re stuck on the current video, and you can only scroll through the comments.
That’s about to change, according to Twitter’s Joanah Katz.
In a recent tweet, Katz shared a screenshot of a Twitter app with a minimized video playing. The video has a Play/Pause button available, and there’s also a button that you can use to close the video.
We’re not sure how exactly this feature will work, but we expect we’ll be able to scroll through the main feed while the video keeps playing minimized, similar to the YouTube app.
While this seems like a mobile-only feature, users in the comments voiced their desire to see this available on the web app as well, and we’re not opposed to this idea.
Sadly, there’s no information available regarding the release date, but according to Katz, we should see it available soon.
In other news, X launched Grok-1 AI, so if you haven’t tried it, this might be a perfect chance to do so.
