Microsoft Excel web app gets a new feature to share links to Sheet views

Microsoft recently added a new feature to the Excel web version to share links to existing or new Sheet views. In a recent blog post, the company mentioned that the feature is now available on the Excel website. 

Talking of the new share links to Sheet views on the Excel web, Vinay, Excel’s Product Manager added: 

We’ve heard from many of you who are regularly using Sheet views that you’d like the ability to quickly bring others’ focus to the information that needs attention. To address this request, we’re enabling you to share a link to a Sheet view that captures a subset of a workbook’s contents.

The company further mentioned that the feature allows you to efficiently collaborate on large or complicated workbooks. It makes it easier for you to receive feedback and input from your team members.

Here’s how to share links to existing or new Sheet views in the Excel web version

The blog post also talked about how the feature works. We have listed step-by-step methods below to help you learn to share links to new or existing Sheet views:

1. First, you need to click the View tab, 
2. Then, you can click the Sheet View arrow and select an existing view in the list, or create a new sheet view altogether,
3. In the Sheet view, right-click any cell or the sheet tab with content you’d like to share,
4. Next, select Copy Link To Sheet View,
5. Now, click the Close button in the Link to Sheet message that appears on the screen, 
6. Lastly, share the copied link with anyone (for example, in an email, in the Teamds chat, etc.) or simply keep the link as a reference and use it.

More recently, Microsoft announced a bunch of new features for the Excel web version. This includes new cut-and-paste features, allowing users to export CSV files, and more.
