Discover which AI chatbots you should use based on their strengths

With so many AI chatbots available, sometimes it is difficult to decide which one to use. After all, they seem to do the same tasks. Copilot is somewhat of an exception because its free version can generate images. However, most chatbots, such as Gemini, Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, are proficient at generating text.

The Wall Street Journal decided to discover where the AI models mentioned previously shine the most. To evaluate the AI models, they tested them in practical scenarios such as health advice, financial guidance, culinary creativity, summarization skills, creative writing, coding, and more.

Which AI chatbot is the most useful?

The most performant AI was Perplexity. If you never used it, try it because it might surprise you. Perplexity has a well-organized UI, a discover feature, and can give you the source of its generations. So, you can always check the accuracy of its answers.

In addition, Perplexity has a deep understanding of specific requirements, great summarization skills, and gives complex health advice. The only downside is that Perplexity can be slower than the other models.

Surprisingly, Copilot was placed in the fifth spot, while ChatGPT, which is somewhat similar to it, got the second place. Also, Gemini is the third one, and Claude is the fourth. The tests done on the chatbots are not that representative, but they give us an idea of which AI model does what better than the others.

Where do the other models excel?

ChatGPT has the best coding skills of all the AI chatbots mentioned and can craft menus and recipes following dietary restrictions. It is the best AI model for coding and provides accurate solutions for JavaScript and web app development.

Gemini is suitable for financial guidance. The AI chatbot gives practical advice on interest rates, retirement savings, and inheritance rules.

Claude is somewhat of a Jack of all trades. You can use it for health and financial advice, but its answers will mostly be less detailed and more general. Also, the AI chatbot struggles at summarizing web content.

Copilot handles creative writing quite well, but it has a lot of shortcomings. Yet, you can use its free version to generate AI images, which is a bonus.

Ultimately, Copilot is the least efficient AI chatbot on the list. You can use it for image generation, but if you need a specific task, you should focus on Perplexity or ChatGPT. Also, when you want financial advice, consider giving Gemini a try.
