The update is now available to download

Microsoft just rolled out Edge version 138.0.3351.77, a small but useful update focused on fixing one specific issue and adding one new feature.

First up, this version includes a temporary workaround for a bug affecting video playback with the AAC codec. Some websites were running into audio issues, and Microsoft says the problem stems from outdated HLS.js libraries.

To patch things up, the company rolled back a recent change, though it didn’t name which one. The long-term fix? Developers need to update to a newer version of HLS.js.

That’s not all; Edge for Business is getting smarter. Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat is coming to the browser’s “Find on Page” feature (CTRL+F). With Copilot built into search, users can get help surfacing relevant content more quickly, cutting down on wasted clicks and digging through pages.

Beyond that, don’t expect much else in this release. Microsoft confirmed there are no additional security updates or patches. This version sticks to that one bug fix and the Copilot integration.

In case you missed it, Microsoft also highlighted major performance gains in Edge thanks to its new WebUI 2.0 changes. The browser can now render settings in under 300 milliseconds. That means less waiting and faster access to menus. Overall, Edge is reportedly 40% quicker than before.

You can grab the latest version by heading to edge://settings/help. The update is now live in the Stable Channel. If you’re already using Edge, it should be just a click away.
