AMD Announces Ryzen AI 400 Series Processors at CES 2026, Pushing PCs into the AI Era

AMD has kicked off CES 2026 with style, adding new processors to its lineup. Speaking of which, the first ones that have been unveiled as next-generation AI processors for both consumer and enterprise PCs are the Ryzen AI 400 Series and Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series.

The new chips offer the fastest, most intelligent, and secure Windows PCs yet, powered by Zen 5 architecture and second-generation AMD XDNA 2 NPUs. AMD says that every processor in the lineup offers up to 60 TOPS of NPU AI compute, exceeding the requirements for seamless Copilot+ PC experiences.

The lineup features up to 12 high-performance CPU cores, integrated Radeon 800M Series graphics, and faster memory speeds, which promise high-end performance, multi-day battery life, and advanced AI compute across laptops and desktops.

As far as enterprise users are concerned, the Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series is designed with IT teams in mind. It combines advanced AI performance with AMD PRO Technologies, including multilayered security, platform stability, and streamlined manageability. This ensures enterprise devices benefit from the same AI features as consumer PCs.

According to AMD, performance benchmarks reveal that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor is 29% faster at multitasking than Intel’s Core Ultra 9 288V. In office productivity tests with a live 10-person Microsoft Teams call, the processor scored 127% in PowerPoint, 129% in Outlook and Procyon Office, and 130% in Word and Excel. In all the tests, the processor surpassed Intel’s Core Ultra 288V.

Speaking of availability, AMD says that systems powered by these processors will be available from major OEMs, including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, GIGABYTE, and Lenovo, starting Q1 2026, with desktops arriving later in Q2 2026.
