Bluesky users are suddenly running into problems. Timelines aren’t loading consistently. Some users also report issues posting, refreshing feeds, and accessing their accounts. The company has now acknowledged the issue via its official status page.

Bluesky users report app, feed, and website issues

According to the Bluesky Status page, the company is currently investigating alerts affecting its Personal Data Server (PDS) fleet. In a follow-up update, Bluesky confirmed that multiple PDS instances are down, suggesting the issue is impacting parts of the platform’s backend infrastructure rather than isolated user accounts.

As of writing, Bluesky has not shared an estimated time for a fix. The company also hasn’t explained what triggered the incident. The outage is also reflected on Downdetector, though. User reports jumped sharply half an hour ago, reaching 589 reports against a normal baseline of just one report. That sudden spike typically indicates a widespread service disruption rather than individual connection problems.

Bluesky is still investigating the incident

Since Bluesky relies on distributed PDS servers, issues affecting multiple instances can interrupt core features across the social network. Depending on which server hosts an account, users may experience different symptoms, including missing posts, failed logins, or delayed updates.

For now, the best option is simply to wait while Bluesky completes its investigation. If you’re experiencing issues, they are likely related to the ongoing outage. If your friends or family have it working, check our guide to fix Bluesky issues.
