Microsoft May Soon Expand Copilot Capabilities Across Microsoft 365 Apps

Microsoft may be rethinking parts of its AI strategy inside Windows 11, but it’s clearly not slowing down when it comes to Copilot across Microsoft 365 apps. That’s because multiple updates have been made by Microsoft relating to 365 Copilot in its official 365 Roadmap portal (via Neowin).

Microsoft may soon integrate Copilot in PowerPoint, Outlook, & more

First, Copilot’s Agent Mode in PowerPoint is about to get a serious boost. Users will soon be able to generate presentations that reference SharePoint libraries, OneDrive folders, emails, Teams chats and meetings, webpages, images, and even other PowerPoint files. In short, Copilot won’t just create slides; it’ll pull data directly from your organization’s content ecosystem.

Microsoft mentions that this deeper integration is scheduled to roll out across Windows, Mac, and the web between April and June 2026.

Speaking of AI features, PowerPoint is also getting smarter drafting tools. Starting in March, Copilot will be able to generate an improved Executive Summary slide on command. At the same time, full presentations can be built using Microsoft’s Work IQ intelligence layer.

Moving on, Copilot Search on the web will bring a carousel-style people discovery feature, which will supposedly help users find colleagues by department, expertise, or role. That feature begins rolling out this month. On the enterprise front, March will also bring expanded Copilot Chat capabilities in Outlook for GCC, GCC High, and U.S. Department of Defense environments.

All that said, Microsoft isn’t done adding Copilot to Microsoft 365 apps. But it’s safe to say that it now plans to do so cautiously.
