Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Detachable leak suggests a new 2-in-1 business tablet is coming, potentially debuting at MWC Barcelona with updated Intel hardware.

A new photo-based leak hints that Lenovo is preparing to refresh its detachable ThinkPad lineup. Despite recent warnings about a looming memory shortage, the company appears ready to introduce fresh hardware aimed at professionals.

According to Windows Latest, leaked images reveal what appears to be the upcoming ThinkPad X13 Detachable in an Eclipse Black finish. The device could make its official debut at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The design follows a familiar detachable 2-in-1 format, combining a kickstand-equipped tablet with a magnetically attached keyboard. The concept closely resembles Surface Pro-style systems but retains classic ThinkPad elements.

Images show noticeably slimmer display bezels compared to the previous ThinkPad X12 Detachable, which featured a 12.3-inch screen. The reduced borders suggest Lenovo may increase the screen size while keeping a compact footprint.

Classic ThinkPad features in a detachable form factor

Despite its tablet-first design, the leaked X13 Detachable keeps hallmark ThinkPad features. The keyboard connects through magnetic pogo pins and includes the iconic TrackPoint along with dedicated TrackPoint buttons.

A recessed slot for the Lenovo Digital Pen appears integrated into the keyboard area, highlighting a focus on productivity and stylus-based workflows. The keyboard deck also shows a round fingerprint reader positioned near the touchpad.

Security options seem comprehensive, as the device is expected to include Windows Hello facial recognition alongside the fingerprint scanner. Lenovo clearly targets enterprise and professional users who prioritize layered authentication.

Business-focused ports and potential Thunderbolt support

Port selection looks tailored for business flexibility. The tablet features USB-C ports on both sides, enabling convenient charging regardless of orientation.

Leaked images show lightning icons next to the USB-C ports, hinting at possible Thunderbolt-class connectivity, although specifications remain unconfirmed. Additional ports include a 3.5 mm audio jack, physical power and volume buttons, and a Kensington-style lock slot.

Core specifications such as processor, RAM, and display resolution remain unknown. However, the device is rumored to use newer Intel platforms, potentially from the Core Ultra 300 series, also known as Panther Lake.

The overall design signals that Lenovo continues to invest in detachable business devices rather than shifting entirely toward consumer-focused hybrids. With its combination of traditional ThinkPad input tools, robust port selection, and security features, the X13 Detachable appears positioned squarely at enterprise customers.

In related laptop news, Samsung recently showcased its Galaxy Book 6 lineup, while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite reportedly posted strong benchmark results against Apple’s upcoming M5 chips, underscoring intensifying competition in both x86 and ARM-based systems.
