ChatGPT Now Helps You Identify Songs with Shazam Integration

Finding a song no longer requires you to juggle through multiple apps, all thanks to Apple and OpenAI, who have now embedded Shazam directly into ChatGPT, allowing you to identify tracks instantly while chatting. The tool works across iOS, Android, and the web, bringing music recognition right to your fingertips.

Shazam in ChatGPT works simply: type “@Shazam” or ask the AI to identify a song, and a microphone button appears. The system uses the same Shazam recognition tech found across Apple devices, then delivers a preview of the track right inside the conversation. Songs appear as cards, keeping the same design style Apple Music users are familiar with.

The integration is cross-platform, so you don’t need an Apple device to use it. But if you already have Shazam on your phone, any tracks you discover in ChatGPT can be saved directly to your library. This keeps your music history organized, rather than buried under AI conversation threads.
Besides identifying tracks, the feature works seamlessly with Apple Music. You can create new playlists in ChatGPT using the recently identified song as a seed.

Setting up Shazam is straightforward. The tool isn’t enabled by default, but you can go to ChatGPT apps, select Shazam, and connect it. There’s also a dedicated page for instant setup. Once linked, the music recognition service is accessible across all supported devices, from iOS and Android to the web.

The rollout is global, which means anyone with access to ChatGPT can start using it immediately. For users who love discovering music on the fly, this integration finally keeps everything in one place.
