Super Meat Boy 3D Release Date Officially Confirmed For Late March

Super Meat Boy 3D launch date

The famously difficult platforming series is finally making the jump into a third dimension, and players will not have to wait long to experience the pain. During the recent Xbox Partner Preview broadcast, developer Sluggerfly confirmed its highly anticipated project will officially launch on March 31.

It collaborated with Team Meat to bring the punishing challenge of the original side-scroller into a fully 3D environment.

Dead by Daylight developers take over the classic franchise

Super Meat Boy 3D keeps the core goal of rescuing Bandage Girl from Dr. Fetus. However, the move to 3D means players navigate hazards from totally different angles. You can still run on walls, slide around corners, and dodge endless traps. If you make a mistake, you die instantly and respawn right at the start of the level. Sluggerfly made sure its physics engine matches the tight controls of the classic games.

The developer focused heavily on making sure jumping feels fair. A fun new touch is a system that leaves permanent red stains on the environment every time you fail a jump. You can watch the full trailer for the game below.

Where can you play the new game?

The platformer is hitting multiple systems at launch. Publisher Headup confirmed its release covers PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch 2. Xbox players who subscribe to Game Pass can download the title on day one at no extra cost. This late March launch was hinted at earlier this month when a digital store page went live ahead of schedule.

Now that the date is formally locked in, fans just have a few days left to mentally prepare for the inevitable frustration of dying over and over again while mastering the new camera perspective.
