New Copilot Icon Spotted in Edge Canary and Microsoft 365

Microsoft may be preparing a new Copilot icon as part of a broader visual refresh for its AI assistant.

The company has already confirmed that it is working on a Copilot Super app that will arrive this year. Now, recent leaks suggest Copilot’s branding could also change.

New Copilot icon appears in Edge Canary

Edge Canary leaker Leopeva64 spotted several clues pointing to a redesigned Copilot logo.

The first appeared in an internal Edge Canary flag called Edge Icon Refresh. Microsoft currently limits the flag to employees and internal devices.

Shortly afterward, the redesigned Copilot icon reportedly appeared by default in several Canary menus. Microsoft then removed the icon in a newer Canary build.

The changes suggest Microsoft is experimenting with the design, although there is no indication yet that the company has finalized it.

Microsoft 365 may get the same design

The new Copilot icon may extend beyond Microsoft Edge.

X user @minto494 reportedly spotted what appears to be the same icon inside Microsoft 365. Its appearance across multiple Microsoft products could indicate that Microsoft is considering a unified Copilot design.

The biggest visual change comes from a flatter appearance. Microsoft appears to be removing some of the three-dimensional elements from the existing Copilot logo in favor of a simpler, more minimalistic design.

Microsoft has not confirmed the redesign

Microsoft has not officially announced a new Copilot icon, and the company could still change or abandon the design before releasing it publicly.

The temporary appearance of the icon in Edge Canary suggests development remains ongoing.

In other Copilot news, Microsoft recently removed the Copilot Domain Exclusion feature shortly after launching it. Despite Microsoft’s growing Copilot push, reports also suggest that 70% of Microsoft’s AI revenue comes from OpenAI.
