ChatGPT gets native iMessage integration on Mac to send & read messages for you
OpenAI has quietly announced several useful changes related ChatGPT and Codex. The latest updates spans across Sites, Apple Messages, Computer History, shared chats, and cross-device pinned conversations.
Apple Messages integration inside ChatGPT Work
The biggest addition may be Apple Messages support for ChatGPT Work and Codex. On MacBooks, the plugin can search iMessage, SMS, and RCS conversations. It can also prepare and send messages through Apple Messages. ChatGPT asks users to approve the recipient and message before sending by default.
That puts messaging much closer to ChatGPT’s existing computer-use capabilities. OpenAI has been expanding desktop workflows across ChatGPT and Codex throughout 2026. Computer History is also expanding to Pro users in the EEA, Switzerland, and UK. The feature remains off by default and requires Memories.
Finally, pinned Codex chats now synchronize between the ChatGPT desktop app and iOS. Android users are excluded from this particular update.
ChatGPT Sites can now get a new address
ChatGPT Plus and Pro users who own ChatGPT Sites can now change their ChatGPT-hosted URL. The change does not require redeploying the Site. The previous address will redirect to the new one, including routes and query parameters. Custom domains remain separate and are not changed by this option.
Meanwhile, Codex users can now share read-only snapshots of conversations. Anyone with the link can open a snapshot, though tool calls and shell input remain excluded.
OpenAI says known secret patterns are redacted automatically. Users should still review snapshots because sensitive paths, images, diffs, or other information could remain.
