Xbox appears to be offering dynamic pricing for first year of Game Pass Ultimate

Xbox seems to be rolling out dynamic oricing for Game Pass Ultimate, with some players reportedly receiveing much cheaper first 12-month offers. In a Reddit post spotted by IdleSloth on X, a user shows proof of getting a $16.09 monthly deal for an entire year. The timing is especially interesting with new Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming limits.

Consodering the claim on the Reddit post, the deal works out to $193.08 for the first year. The regular $22.99 monthly price totals $275.88 annually. That means the reported offer saves $82.80 during the first year. The subscription reportedly returns to $22.99 monthly after the first 12-months period ends.

Meanwhile, others reported offers around $18 and $20 monthly. The interesting part is the acciunt targeting. One user commenting on the post noted that their secobdsry account got the offer. Their main Game Pass account did not. So, it seems Microsoft is trying to pull in players with a good offer.

Since Microsoft has not confirmed this as dynamic pricing just yet, some Reddit users ssuggest these discounted offers are actually regional A/B testing. So, calling this confirmed dynamic pricing would be premature. What is confirmed is that selected users are seeing different annual offers.

The timing makes these deals more interesting. Xbox recently announced monthly cloud gaming limits beginning in November. Ultimate will include 15 cloud gaming hours monthly. Premium gets 10 hours, while Essential gets five. After those hours run out, subscribers can purchase additional cloud playtime. Xbox says pricing details will be released before the changes launch.
