Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Console, Pro Controller & Accessories Sold Out Within Minutes

Nintendo’s Zelda 40th anniversary celebration has already turned into a shopping frenzy. The newly revealed Switch 2 console and anniversary accessories have reportedly sold out immediately after pre-orders opened.

Zelda fans wasted no time in securing limited-edition hardware

Nintendo unveiled the The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 alongside matching accessories during its September 8 Direct. The special console is priced at $519.99 in the US and launches on October 29.

The package gives the Switch 2 a full Zelda makeover. The console, dock, and Joy-Con 2 controllers feature Triforce-inspired designs, while the system itself does not include a game.

Nintendo also revealed a matching Switch 2 Pro Controller and carrying case. The controller costs $99.99, while the version with a display stand costs $109.99. The carrying case is priced at $39.99.

Stock disappeared almost instantly after pre-orders opened

Nintendo’s US store has already marked the anniversary console and both Pro Controller options as sold out. The situation is same across major retailers like Amazon and Walmart. The demand is hardly surprising. The anniversary hardware arrives just days before the Ocarina of Time remake, which launches on November 5 for Switch 2.

Not to forget, the matching carrying case and screen protector are sold out too. The company has additionally announced new Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo for 2027, which are marked as sold out in Nintendo’s US store.

For now, Zelda fans who missed the first wave may need to keep checking retailers rather than paying inflated reseller prices.
