Meta Muse Hits 700,000 Daily Users as Service Issues Appear

Meta’s Muse personal AI agent is reportedly showing signs of strain as its user base grows rapidly.

Meta launched Muse as a personal AI agent that can carry out real-world actions. Similarweb estimates reportedly put it at around 700,000 daily active users, roughly 10 times more than 11 days ago.

Meta Chief AI Officer Alexander Wang previously said Muse usage had exceeded internal projections, with users consuming around 10 times more resources than testing cohorts. Meta responded by resetting token usage and increasing limits.

Users report degraded service and agent limits

SaaSHub currently lists Muse as degraded, with “can’t search” among the most commonly reported issues.

In one stress test, Muse was asked to launch 120 sub-agents but created only 33, while 87 attempts failed. These reports do not prove a platform-wide capacity issue, but they suggest Muse may already face scaling and orchestration limits.

Every Muse user gets a dedicated cloud environment

Meta says each Muse user gets an isolated cloud VM with two vCPUs, 8GB of RAM, and 100GB of SSD storage.

That setup improves isolation but could require substantial computing and storage resources as Muse approaches one million daily active users.

Meta is expanding the Muse ecosystem

Despite the scaling limitations, Meta is also preparing the Muse Charm, a keychain-style device expected to ship in December.

Muse works with Meta smart glasses, while Mark Zuckerberg says Meta plans to charge a small fee on transactions completed through the assistant. The company is also developing other new features.

Meta currently offers up to 100 million free tokens per week, with paid plans reportedly starting at around $20 per month.
