New Windows 11 Experimental Build Is Out With 'Energy Recommendations' in Quick Settings & More

Microsoft has wrapped up this week with bunch of Windows 11 Insider builds, including one each in the Beta and Beta (26H1) channels. In addition, the company has also released Build 26340.9577, bringing even more changes for Insiders in the Windows 11 Experimental channel.

Windows 11 Start menu is getting a bigger Phone Link view

The latest Experimental build expands the Phone companion experience in the Start menu. Users can now see more recent activity from their phones through a scrollable side pane without leaving the Start menu.

Microsoft is also making Energy Recommendations easier to find. Insiders will now see them directly in Quick Settings, allowing them to quickly access suggestions that can help reduce energy consumption.

There are also some smaller visual changes to the Temporary files section under Settings > System > Storage.

Narrator gets more languages for math reading

Microsoft is expanding Narrator’s math reading feature with support for six languages: English US, English UK, Traditional Chinese, Finnish, German and Spanish. The feature is also coming to supported web content in Microsoft Edge Stable 153.0.4234.32 and later and Chrome Stable 153.0.8010.18 and later.

Microsoft has also fixed an issue affecting some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices, including certain multichannel headsets, that could stop working correctly after recent updates. Meanwhile, taskbar is getting a smaller but useful improvement too. Microsoft has improved how settings related to multiple monitors are preserved when displays are connected or disconnected.

It should also be noted that Microsoft has released Build 28120.3122 to the Windows 11 Insider Experimental (26H1) channel with “a small set of general improvements and fixes that improve the overall experience for Insiders running this build on their PCs.”
