Xbox appears to be testing a new streak system that gives players another reason to boot up their consoles, which are being sold at highly absurd prices outside the US. The feature reportedly tracks weekly gaming activity and asks players to play on three days each week. However, it remains a limited test for now, and Microsoft has yet to announce a public rollout.

Xbox’s new streak system tracks weekly gaming activity

The new feature first surfaced among Xbox Insiders in late September. According to a report from GameFile, it appeared on an Xbox Series X dashboard and displayed a flame icon beside the player’s Gamerscore (via Insider Gaming).

The system reportedly tracks whether players use their consoles across three days during a week. After meeting that target, players are prompted to repeat the activity the following week to keep their streak alive. The notification may appear after playing for a few minutes.

Notably, Microsoft has not explained whether maintaining the streak will unlock rewards, achievements, or other benefits. For now, the feature appears focused on tracking regular console activity rather than offering a confirmed new rewards program.

Do note that Microsoft has not officially detailed the new gaming streak system or confirmed when everyone will receive it. Its purpose and any potential rewards remain unclear. For Xbox players, the feature could offer a simple way to track weekly gaming habits. However, its final form may change before Microsoft decides whether to release it to the masses.
