Following the many issues with Windows 10 May update, a new problem with Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) drivers is preventing the update from being installed.
Intel RST driver issues still affects many Windows 10 users
The issue is known for some time, but Microsoft is working on a solution and better described the bug in a recent report:
If you are trying to update to the Windows 10 May 2019 Feature Update (Windows 10, version 1903), you may encounter an update compatibility hold and receive the message, “Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST): The inbox storage driver iastora.sys doesn’t work on these systems and causes stability problems on Windows. Check with your software/driver provider for an updated version that runs on this version of Windows.”
The main cause of the problem is an incompatibility with Intel Rapid Storage drivers versions between 15.1.0.1002 and 15.5.2.1053 and Windows 10 v1903.
As a result, PCs with the affected drivers can’t update to v1903. All the Versions 15.5.2.1054 or later work as expected.
Microsoft might remove the Windows 10 v1903 upgrade block soon
Microsoft promises that a resolution will be available later this month. In the meantime, to avoid the bug you’ll have to update your Intel® RST drivers for your device to version 15.5.2.1054 or later.
After you update the Intel drivers, Windows 10 May update should install without any problems.

It’s worth noting that you can download the drivers directly from Intel’s official site, but it’s best to first check them on your PC’s manufacturer site, as they might be modified.
