minecraft video

This year, on May 17, Minecraft will celebrate its 15th anniversary. But, the game’s popularity graph shows no signs of slowing down, even more than a decade after its release. Even right now, all everyone’s talking about is the Minecraft video released by Mojang Studios!

Mojand Studio’s 98-second music video features Douglas Haines’s song and makes subtle references to things peculiar to Minecraft. The video is truly a piece of art, be it the lyrics, music, casting, or acting. Every aspect of it will evoke memories of the first time you played the game.

The video is not all! A lot more changes are coming to Minecraft in the coming days, including the Tricky Trials update. You will see 20 more pixelated paintings in Minecraft, 5 of which will be released alongside the Tricks Trials update.

The 98-second video evokes nostalgia, players share their experience

As soon as the video hit YouTube, it became an instant rage in the Minecraft community. Soon, users took to forums to share golden memories and experiences they had with the blocky sandbox game.

I remember being on /v/ and /g/ and people just making endless fun of how lame this game was, me included, until I played it. Then my wife made fun of me for playing that game with “the worst graphics ever”.

I still have the email. I bought it in January 2011, a few weeks after the Beta release, for 14.95 euro, or $19.80 US at the time.

I remember scoffing at the graphics, and then a friend sitting me down and basically forcing me to play the alpha version. I very quickly no longer cared about the graphics.

Played early alpha in 2009 when all you could do was add and remove blocks. There’s a website that has our user creations documented.

Minecraft remains one of the few games to have received regular improvements and updates after a decade. Over the years, it’s been released on more platforms, adding millions of new users to its kitty. Let’s see what the future holds for Minecraft!
