Teams meetings capacity

If you’re currently a remote worker, then you appreciate the significance of cloud-based workforce collaboration tools today. As more and more people work from home due to the COVID-19 situation, organizations are turning to such tech solutions, for example, Teams meetings and chats, to communicate and collaborate.

Instant messaging tools too have become a highly-sought resource as the demand for real-time business communication skyrockets.

Sometime back, Microsoft revealed that 91% of Fortune 100 corporations use Teams. Daily users of the platform have also tremendously increased.

But Microsoft Teams had to develop its capacity to start accommodating the rising demand for remote collaboration tools and digital workspaces.

Little wonder then that the Teams Meetings feature has grown in a few months to the point of supporting up to 300 participants.

Teams meetings support up to 300 participants today

According to a tweet by Mike Tholfsen, Product Manager, Microsoft, the Teams meetings’ limit has increased.

So, as Teams’ capacity for collaborative work increases, the Office 365 tool now lets you have a corporate meeting with up to 300 people. All these participants can take part in chats or they may call in to attend your meeting.

Of course, there’s much more room for improvement in Teams meetings. It’s obviously playing catch up to Zoom’s Large Meeting feature, which under a special license, may allow between 500 and 1000 participants.

Similarly, there are reports that Teams’ gallery view for video conferencing will soon receive an expansion. Teams video will show up to 49 participants at the same time if the improvement comes to fruition.

Besides Zoom, Microsoft Teams faces stiff competition from Slack, which continues to expand its third-party app integrations. The collaboration platform recently got integrated with several AWS resources, including Chatbot, AppFlow, and Key Management Service.
