Key notes

  • Windows 11 has been releasing new system requirements for security purposes.
  • Valorant game fanatics will be required to run TPM 2.0 to continue enjoying the game.
  • TPM 2.0 is expected to offer an extra layer of security from malware attacks.

With a little over a month remaining until the unveiling of Microsoft’s Windows 11, it appears that new system requirements have come up. As we near the long-awaited date, Microsoft keeps introducing new requirements. Just a few weeks ago, webcams were made mandatory for users planning to run Windows 11.

What you will need

For you to run Valorant, you will need;

  • A newer CPU,
  • 4GB RAM,
  • At least 32GB of storage,
  • TPM 2.0.

Reports indicate that these new rules are being enforced only on Windows 11, so if you are still on Windows 10 without TPM 2.0, you have nothing to worry about. The only downside is that Windows 10 has a lifespan, and it will only be supported up to October 2025.

In addition, there is no guarantee that these new rules will only apply to Windows 11.

Why TPM?

TPM or Trusted Platform Module is an installation on your PC that contains a security module aimed at performing hardware and security-related operations. It serves as an extra layer of security and prevents malicious malware from tampering with its security features.

According to Microsoft, it is highly effective in cryptographic activities. In the past, Microsoft has made significant steps to offer more security to the Windows operating system by setting specific requirements.

Reddit users are, however, debating on whether you need TPM to run every single game and argue that a game has no business requiring TPM. Some of the comments on Reddit on the new requirements are as follows:
