Key notes

  • Microsoft released Windows 11 Insider Build 25309 on Dev Channel.
  • As usual, the update comes with a bunch of nice additions to the OS.
  • However, it seems like the tech giant is removing the Add device button from Bluetooth settings. Why?

It’s that time of the month: Microsoft launched Windows 11 Insider Build 25309, featuring a plethora of new features you do not want to miss, live on the Dev Channel for several select users.

Not too long after announcing the Moment 2 update for general availability, which includes the Bing AI chatbot on the taskbar and the Phone Link availability for iPhone users, the Redmond-based tech giant came out with good news for insiders.

However, as noted by Windows enthusiast @PhantomOnEarth, it seems like Microsoft is experimenting by hiding the Add device button from Bluetooth settings if the device doesn’t support Bluetooth connection. The antidote feature itself is living inside the build and is not activated by default without a few registry tweaks via ViVeTool.

It’s not clear what Microsoft is trying to achieve by experimenting with this, but it’s a nice feature nonetheless. With this, you can easily know if your device supports the Bluetooth connection or not.

What should I do if I can’t add Bluetooth device on Windows 11?

On the other hand, some users have reported that they encountered Bluetooth connectivity problems. If you relate to this situation, we’ve prepared a simple guide for you to follow.

As Insider-only features, it makes sense if you’ll be encountering problems while accessing this build. Make sure to report any other issues you might come across, in order for Microsoft to address and improve the overall OS experience for us all.
