AMD Ryzen Chipset Driver Update 7.06.02.123 Adds CETCOMPAT Support
There are a bunch of bug fixes, too
AMD has rolled out a new chipset driver update—version 7.06.02.123—for all supported Ryzen CPUs and platforms. You won’t see big flashy features here, but there’s an important tweak under the hood: a security boost to the AMD PPM Provisioning File driver.
CET support lands in AMD’s power management tools
The big change in this update is the addition of CETCOMPAT support. That’s short for Control-flow Enforcement Technology compatibility—a Windows security feature that’s designed to block common malware tricks like memory hijacking and redirection to malicious code.
Intel originally developed CET, and Microsoft began supporting it in Windows 10 20H1 and 20H2 back in 2021. AMD started rolling out CET support across parts of its driver suite in late 2024. Now, it’s being extended to a key component that handles power and core parking.

The PPM Provisioning File driver might not sound critical, but it plays a role in how efficiently your Ryzen chip manages its resources, so adding CET support here is a quiet but meaningful improvement.
Why this matters for Ryzen users
This isn’t a flashy upgrade, but it helps harden systems against low-level attacks. AMD hasn’t shared specific bug fixes included in this update, but the security bump alone makes it worth grabbing, especially if you’re already running a TPM or Pluton-enabled system.

If you’re on a supported Ryzen setup, you can download the driver update by clicking here. The installer will walk you through selecting which components you want to update. For most users, just choosing the default recommended options should be enough.
