AMD’s New Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D & Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D Processors Are Official
The company has also launched 4 new processors alongside
AMD is quietly pushing its Ryzen PRO processors into a territory that previously belonged to Threadripper workstations. After launching the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 with dual 3D V-Cache and 192MB cache, the company has officially expanded its Ryzen PRO 9000 lineup with six new desktop and workstation processors, including its first-ever Ryzen PRO CPUs featuring 3D V-Cache technology.
AMD finally brings X3D to Ryzen PRO workstations
The most notable upgrade for sure is the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D. It packs 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads, boost clocks up to 5.5GHz, and a massive 128MB of L3 cache thanks to AMD’s 3D V-Cache tech. The chip also carries a 170W TDP, making it one of AMD’s most powerful PRO desktop CPUs yet. AMD has also launched a standard Ryzen 9 PRO 9965 variant with the same core count but without the stacked cache.
| Name | Graphics Model | # of CPU Cores | # of Threads | Max. Boost Clock | Base Clock | Thermal Solution (PIB) | Graphics Core Count | Default TDP |
| AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 9755 | AMD Radeon Graphics | 8 | 16 | Up to 5.4 GHz | 3.8 GHz | Not Included | 2 | 120W |
| AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9965 | AMD Radeon Graphics | 16 | 32 | Up to 5.5 GHz | 4.3 GHz | Not Included | 2 | 170W |
| AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D | AMD Radeon Graphics | 16 | 32 | Up to 5.5 GHz | 4.3 GHz | Not Included | 2 | 170W |
| AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 9655 | AMD Radeon Graphics | 6 | 12 | Up to 5.4 GHz | 3.9 GHz | Not Included | 2 | 120W |
| AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D | AMD Radeon Graphics | 8 | 16 | Up to 5.2 GHz | 4.7 GHz | Not Included | 2 | 120W |
| AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9955 | AMD Radeon Graphics | 12 | 24 | Up to 5.4 GHz | 3.4 GHz | Not Included | 2 | 120W |
The 3D V-Cache technology is not limited to Ryzen 9 series only. AMD also announced the Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D with eight cores, 16 threads, and 96MB of L3 cache. That’s a big jump considering AMD previously kept X3D mostly focused on gaming-focused consumer chips. Now, it appears the company believes cache-heavy workloads matter just as much in professional environments.
Speaking of which, AMD says the new processors are ideal for applications such as 3D CAD, BIM workflows, real-time visualization, simulation, video production, and AI-powered tasks.
Lenovo may become the first major launch partner
As reported by TechPowerUp, AMD has also confirmed that systems powered by Ryzen PRO 9000 chips will begin shipping in the second half of 2026. Lenovo’s upcoming ThinkStation P4 workstation is already lined up for Q3 2026 availability. Interestingly, the new workstation brings liquid cooling and support for up to 256GB memory into a compact chassis. You can read more about it in the official announcement here.
