Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Gets Official Release Date, Coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5/Pro & PC

Launching day one on Ubisoft+

Ubisoft has officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and confirmed development from ground up using the latest Anvil engine. As leaked earlier, the game will release on July 9, 2026, on PS5/PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Ubisoft Store, Epic Games and Steam/Steam Deck. The game will also be available on NVIDIA GeForce Now and Blacknut.

Here’s what’s new in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Set in the Caribbean, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced follows Edward Kenway as he becomes drawn into the Assassins and Templars conflict. He also meets pirates like Blackbeard while exploring Havana, Kingston, and Nassau, each shaped by trade and power struggles.

As noted by Ubisoft, visual upgrades are in for the remake. You can expect high-res textures, improved lighting, dynamic weather, and expanded underwater exploration. The world of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is designed to feel seamless, with cities and open seas flowing together more naturally than before. Underwater exploration also feels more detailed and expansive than before.

Combat has been reworked

Combat, which is a major part of the gameplay, has also been reworked into a faster, more reactive system. Players chain attacks, land perfect parries for instant kills, and use environments in fights. Stealth now includes free crouching and improved eavesdrop missions that react instead of failing instantly.

Additionally, naval gameplay returns with upgraded ship called Jackdaw, adding new weapons, upgrades, and tactical flexibility. Players can recruit officers with unique abilities and companion pets like cats and monkeys. Ubisoft has also confirmed that early feedback has shaped the remake.

As previously reported, the game developers say that the game remains a solo story-driven experience. Notably, it’s not an RPG. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will launch day one on Ubisoft+, with preorders now live.
