ASUS Rolls Out Major Armoury Crate SE Update for All Xbox Ally Models

The Xbox Ally lineup received a good reception from critics and players. Well, to keep the handhelds up and running well, ASUS has now released an update that focuses on performance, stability, and day-to-day usability.

The latest update, dubbed Armoury Crate SE, version 2.1.15.0, is now rolling out in phases and introduces deeper control across both the Xbox Ally family and the original ROG Ally.

As far as Xbox Ally X is concerned, the update adds a new CPU P-core and E-core controls, allowing finer power tuning without diving into Windows settings. ASUS also added a dedicated Fullscreen exit binding, making it easier to jump between apps without relying on touch gestures.

System behavior gets a noticeable upgrade as well. Command Center now surfaces update alerts more clearly, and Windows power mode options appear directly in Manual Mode. The FPS limiter has been reworked to use Radeon Chill, which should help reduce heat and power draw. ASUS swapped the old 45 FPS preset for a cleaner 40 FPS option too.

Gyro aiming has been updated with reduced drift, making motion input feel more consistent. Captive portal support finally arrives as well, meaning Ally devices can now authenticate on hotel and airport Wi-Fi.

Hardware-level improvements round out the update. The Ally X receives new haptic tuning for its Impulse Triggers, updated touch firmware, revised chipset drivers, and a more reliable Cloud Recovery flow. Moreover, the standard Xbox Ally gets a GPU driver boost, better power handling, and a diagnostic MCU interface for troubleshooting. If you want to check full changelog, head to this webpage.
