Battlefield 6 Season 4 launches on July 21, 2026, with the game’s largest map, expanded naval combat, new aircraft, and a Top Gun: Maverick crossover.

EA and Battlefield Studios describe Season 4 as the biggest seasonal update released for Battlefield 6 so far. The update will roll out across three phases and focus on large-scale battles across land, sea, and air.

Spectator Mode and custom Portal lobby support also form part of the Season 4 plans.

Battlefield 6 Season 4 Starts With Pacific Front

The first phase, called Pacific Front, begins on July 21 alongside the Season 4 launch.

Its main addition is Tsuru Reef, which the developers describe as the largest Battlefield 6 map to date. The map will support combined-arms battles involving infantry, ground vehicles, aircraft, and naval units.

Pacific Front will also bring naval warfare back into focus after earlier Battlefield 6 maps placed greater emphasis on infantry and ground combat.

The larger environment appears designed to address player complaints that some previous maps lacked the scale associated with older Battlefield games.

Top Gun Crossover Launches August 18

Season 4 Phase 2 will begin on August 18 with a Top Gun crossover developed alongside Paramount Games Studio.

The collaboration will introduce vehicles, character skins, cosmetics, and game modes inspired by Top Gun: Maverick.

A reimagined version of Wake Island will also arrive during the crossover. Wake Island has appeared in several Battlefield games and traditionally features intense battles involving aircraft, boats, and ground vehicles.

F-18 and F-14 Join Battlefield 6

The F-18 Super Hornet will join Battlefield 6 during Season 4.

The F-14 Tomcat will also appear as part of the Top Gun collaboration. Season 4 will introduce a two-person jet that allows a pilot and wingman to operate the aircraft together.

The system will support cooperative aerial combat, giving two players the ability to coordinate during dogfights and attacks against ground or naval targets.

Top Gun Characters and Voice Actors

Several characters from Top Gun: Maverick will appear as character skins.

Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw will feature voice acting from Miles Teller. Lewis Pullman will voice Lt. Robert “Bob” Floyd, while Charles Parnell will return as Adm. Solomon “Warlock” Bates.

Additional Top Gun-themed cosmetic items will also become available during the crossover.

EA has not announced Tom Cruise’s Maverick as part of the collaboration.

Carrier Strike and Fighter Sweep Modes

Season 4 will add two modes built around naval and aerial combat.

Carrier Strike offers a new version of the classic Carrier Assault mode. Teams will use aircraft and other vehicles to attack enemy aircraft carriers while defending their own.

Fighter Sweep will appear through Gauntlet and focus entirely on jet combat. The jets-only mode will remove infantry and ground battles, allowing players to concentrate on aerial engagements and dogfighting.

Tidal Strike Begins September 15

The third phase, Tidal Strike, will launch on September 15.

It will introduce the Deep Six: Collection Event and conclude the main Battlefield 6 Season 4 content rollout.

EA has not provided further details about the event, its rewards, or any additional modes planned for the final phase.

Battlefield Studios Calls Season 4 Its Biggest Update

Battlefield General Manager Byron Beede said the development team expanded the game’s original content plans using community feedback.

He described Season 4 as the largest Battlefield 6 update so far. The developers expect its naval warfare, larger maps, new aircraft, and Top Gun crossover to appeal to returning players and newcomers.

Season 4 arrives shortly before Battlefield 6 reaches its first anniversary in October 2026.

EA and Battlefield Studios continue to adjust the game based on player feedback, with Season 4 placing greater emphasis on the large-scale vehicle combat traditionally associated with the Battlefield series.

In other news, Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 are reportedly outperforming Black Ops 7 in player count following the announcement of both games for PS5.
