Call of Duty: NEXT Kicks Off on August 21 Right Before Modern Warfare 4 Beta
Modern Warfare 4 is almost ready to step into the spotlight. Activision has officially announced the date for Call of Duty: NEXT, and players won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the game. For the first time, the multiplayer reveal event will roll directly into the Modern Warfare 4 beta, giving fans immediate access once the showcase comes to an end.
Call of Duty: NEXT will kick off the Modern Warfare 4 beta
Call of Duty: NEXT is set for August 21 and will feature live gameplay, fresh Multiplayer reveals, developer insights, and a closer look at what Infinity Ward has planned before launch. Activision says the Early Access Beta will begin immediately after the presentation and run until August 25 for players who have pre-ordered the game on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
That won’t be the only chance to jump in, though. The Open Beta starts on August 28 and continues through September 1, opening the doors to all players across supported platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2. No pre-order is required for the second beta weekend, making it the biggest test before launch.
Speaking of the beta itself, players can expect multiple Multiplayer maps, new and returning game modes, brand-new Operators, and as many as 19 weapons to experiment with before release. Activision also confirmed that more gameplay details and beta rewards will be revealed over the coming weeks as the studio builds toward Modern Warfare 4’s October 23 launch.
