In a push to make new Chrome users aware of extensions and themes available in the Chrome Web Store, Google may show a popup notification to discover extensions.

Google Chrome is the most popular desktop browser with extension support. The Chrome Web Store contains thousands of extensions and themes that users can use to personalize or customize Chrome browser appearance and functionality.

If you are a new user who just installed Chrome browser and hasn’t installed any extensions, Chrome may show this promotion for you to visit the Chrome Web Store and discover extensions available on it.

“Enhance your browser with extensions. Extensions are add-ons to Chrome that can help you stay organized, simplify tasks, and customize your browsing.”

When users click the “Discover Extensions” button in the dialog, they will be taken to the Chrome Web Store. Anyone can dismiss it by clicking on “Got it” button. Other than this, Chrome also replaces the Extensions submenu in the Chrome menu with the Find Extensions option.

This move may help users become aware of Chrome Web Store’s presence. Apart from this, Chrome’s new Infinite Tabs Freezing aims to improve performance when users create more tabs. Additionally, Chrome is planning to use AI to suppress geolocation requests from websites.
