Claude Gains Health App Integrations as Anthropic Expands Into Healthcare
After OpenAI’s push into healthcare, Anthropic is moving in the same direction by expanding Claude with new health-focused features. The company has now shared more details about how Claude can work with personal health data.
Claude can connect to health apps and records
As Neowin reports, Anthropic has introduced health data integrations for Claude, allowing users to connect health apps and medical records directly to the AI assistant. The feature is available in beta for Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US on Android and iOS.
Users can link Claude to platforms such as Apple Health and Android Health Connect. Once connected, Claude can summarize medical history in plain language, explain test results more clearly, and highlight patterns across fitness and health metrics.
Anthropic stresses that users must explicitly opt in before sharing any health information. Health-related conversations are not used to train AI models and are not saved to chat memory. Users can also review, edit, or revoke data access at any time.
The company says the goal is to help users prepare for medical appointments by presenting understandable insights and trends from their health data. Healthcare is not Anthropic’s only focus, however, as the company is also developing a new Cowork feature for Claude aimed at improving collaboration in future updates.
