Edge Dev 134.0.3124.8

Microsoft just released Edge Dev Version 134.0.3124.8, and the build comes with some significant changes for the browser.

First things first, starting around mid to late March 2025, Microsoft Copilot in the Edge browser will get new features in the “Work” tab for Business Chat in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

These features include Page Summarization, which lets you ask Copilot to summarize a web page, and contextual queries, which allow you to ask relevant questions about the page, like “summarize this page.”

Users will have access to contextual prompt suggestions, and Copilot will suggest questions to ask about the open web page.

These features can be used through the Edge side pane, but you’ll need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Administrators can control the feature’s availability with a specific policy. The official release date will be announced in the Microsoft Edge release notes.

With the release of Edge Dev Version 134.0.3124.8, Microsoft Search in Bing, which helps you search for work-related stuff on Bing.com, will stop working after March 31, 2025.

There used to be a setting called “AddressBarMicrosoftSearchInBingProviderEnabled” for using Microsoft Search in Bing in the Edge for Business address bar.

This setting is no longer recommended starting from Microsoft Edge version 134 and will be removed in a future version. The new setting that replaces it is called “AddressBarWorkSearchResultsEnabled,” and it is available starting from Microsoft Edge version 134.

The build also removes the ‘Add account’ option from the profile menu for Entra ID users. This means adding a linked personal account directly from Edge will no longer be available in the Edge profile menu.

With this version, Edge Dev gets the scareware blocker policy, which should make the browser much safer and more protected against complex cyber threats.
