Elden Ring Nightreign continues its rapid rise in popularity, and FromSoftware has released a new patch that expands gameplay while addressing a wide range of issues. The update focuses on Deep of Night mode, quality-of-life improvements, and stability fixes across core systems.

New content added to Deep of Night mode in patch 1.03.1

The patch introduces additional targets, landmarks, and raid events. Shifting Earth encounters now appear in Deep of Night mode when players match with others who also own the DLC. This change increases encounter variety and replay value for coordinated groups.

Night Aspect boss fights also receive an update. When all players in a session own the DLC, the boss gains additional attack patterns, making encounters more challenging and rewarding for experienced teams.

UI and quality-of-life improvements

This update delivers several usability enhancements aimed at improving combat clarity and inventory management. Players now see stack count displays on certain damage icons, along with rarity colors when pinning items.

Other notable changes include:

  • Near-death animations for specific revival effects
  • Automatic merging of consumable stacks in equipment menus
  • Expanded hidden clue ranges on Great Hollow Shifting Earth maps
  • Full remapping support for the Map Display key on keyboard and mouse

These tweaks improve readability, reduce friction, and make exploration smoother.

Bug fixes and stability updates

The patch resolves numerous bugs across combat, skills, relics, enemies, and expedition systems. Developers fixed issues with unintended enemy spawns, bosses failing to despawn, missing UI icons, and broken lock-on behavior for near-death allies.

Multiplayer matchmaking and progression conditions now behave more reliably. Several Great Hollows Shifting Earth blockers, including stuck characters and missing rewards, have also been eliminated.

These highlights cover only the most notable changes. For full details, players should review the official patch notes. If you haven’t already unlocked a Scholar in Nightreign, don’t miss our guide to learn how to do it.
