Bethesda has finally revealed something new about The Elder Scrolls VI. As rumored late last month, The long-awaited RPG has officially received its full name, The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, alongside its new teaser.

The Elder Scrolls VI to be called “Sentinel,” new teaser revealed

Earlier today, Bethesda Game Studios revealed the official title for Elder Scrolls VI as part of its 40th anniversary. The brief teaser appears near the end of the video, showing a scroll partially buried in sand before revealing the game’s official name.

Interestingly, the teaser includes a passage attributed to Yazar, a Moth Priest serving High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell. The text references a lost future, an undone victory, and the sands of time. This gives fans another reason to believe Hammerfell will play an important role in the upcoming adventure.

However, Bethesda hasn’t shared gameplay footage, a release window, or confirmed platforms. The announcement focuses on the game’s official title rather than offering a substantial look at its world.

Bethesda still has plenty to reveal

The name reveal comes more than eight years after Bethesda first announced The Elder Scrolls VI at E3 2018. Since then, the studio has released Starfield while keeping its next major fantasy RPG largely under wraps.

Bethesda previously confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI is now its primary development focus. The studio also said the majority of its team is working on the project, although that doesn’t necessarily mean a release is close.

Speaking of the setting, Hammerfell has been widely discussed as a potential location for the game. The new teaser strengthens that theory, but its references alone don’t confirm the full setting or story.

Well, if you are a fan of the franchise, you still need to wait for Bethesda to show the actual game in action.
