1. Run Origin as an administrator

First, try running your Origin client software as an administrator by right-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.

Then, you can simply select the Run as administrator option on its context menu.

2. Log out and back into Origin

  1. Click Origin at the top left of the game client’s window.

3. Temporarily turn off Windows Defender Firewall

  1. Press the Windows and R keys simultaneously to launch the Run accessory.
  2. Type this command line in Run’s Open box and press Enter: control firewall.cpl
  3. Next, click Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off, which will open the settings in the snapshot directly below.

4. Disable third-party antivirus utilities

  1. Right-click the antivirus software icon for it on the Windows Taskbar.

  7. Next, input this location command and press Enter: %AppData%
  8. Select the Origin subfolder within the Roaming folder that opens.
  9. Click the Delete button to erase the Origin subfolder.
  10. Click AppData in File Explorer’s path bar to open that folder.

  13. Thereafter, restart your desktop and laptop.

6. Reinstall Origin

  1. Open Run’s window.
  2. To open Windows’ uninstaller, enter this launch command in Run: appwiz.cpl
  3. Select Origin in the programs list.
  4. Click Uninstall to remove Origin.
