We recently reported that Microsoft Forms will support Excel files, and the two platforms will be integrated for a seamless experience and a more efficient workflow.

However, it now seems that Excel for Web can sync data with Microsoft Forms, sooner than we expected (the Microsoft Roadmap indicated an integration in July 2024), according to Microsoft’s latest blog post.

The highly anticipated feature – Forms data sync to Excel is now available in Microsoft Forms. With just one click, you can now easily access all your form responses in Excel for the web and take advantage of Excel’s rich functions to analyze and visualize your data. With automatic syncing of new responses in real-time, you can keep working on your existing spreadsheet without missing a beat.

The integration comes with several features that make it a very useful tool for those who want to gather, analyze, and build a report based on form information.

These features include:

  • Open responses in Excel: the feature will automatically create an Excel worksheet in OneDrive, and it will take the feature to Excel for Web, where they can process the data.excel microsoft forms
  • Deeper analysis in Excel: users will be able to sort, filter, and insert charts.
  • New responses sync to Excel: by far, one of the most useful features, the Excel charts will be automatically synced with new data from Microsoft Forms.excel microsoft forms

The feature is now available for all Excel for Web users.
