The information comes from an insider source familiar with Square Enix’s plans, although the report cautions that the release window could change if development timelines shift.

The same report claims that Rebirth remains scheduled to launch on Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2026. In addition, Square Enix directors have reportedly confirmed that both Part 2 and Part 3 of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy are in active development with Switch 2 in mind, signaling a broader multi-platform strategy.

Another source cited in the report suggests that the Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 versions could arrive simultaneously. That approach would mirror Square Enix’s previous release strategy for Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which eventually expanded to additional platforms after its initial launch.
