Financial Times is one of the most prominent newspapers in the world, and in thanks to its success, versions of the newspaper have been going online, in the form of apps, that give you the best headlines in the financial world.
Unlike other apps, this one is the official Financial Times app, developed for Windows 8, Windows 10 users who like to be on top of the latest news. As we are about to see, the app is one of the best news apps we’ve tested, although it gives news in relation to finances, it has an excellent overall quality.

The app itself is very well done, it’s obvious that the development team has put a lot of effort in creating a top notch app that does not need any configuration or setting up. If I would have to sum up the installation and setting up of the app in three words, it would probably be something like this: “Install, Log In and Read”.
The Login feature, although not a necessary requirement from the app, I strongly suggest that you use it to connect the app to your Financial Times account. If you do not log in to your account, you will only see the headlines of the stories and not any other information.
Also, for smooth ebrowsing throughout the app, a feature that I think should be implemented in all apps is used: when you open the app, it immediately starts downloading all the new stories and images, and in a few seconds, you are ready to browse the news with absolutely no loading time.
This makes for a very fast app, and thanks to its nice user interface, browsing is also very easy to do within the app. Overall, Financial Times for Windows 8, Windows 10 is a great news app for those in the business, its UI is awesome and easy to use and the app is fast and responsive.

Update – Financial Times app is no longer available in the Store
The Financial Times App received many improvements over the year. For example, version 1.0.122.5 added the following new features :
- Supports scalable hi-res icons on extra-large screen
- Latest edition stored for offline reading
- Access many new sections and bonds in market data section
Unfortunately, the Financial Times App is no longer available for download in the Microsoft Store. The official Financial Times App lists only the App Store and Google Play Store as supported app platforms. However, Windows 10, 8 users can still use the browser version of the app which is available on FT’s official webpage.
