Five XBOX Games Are Shutting Down Servers in August 2026

Five XBOX games will lose online server support during August 2026. The shutdown list includes NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, WWE 2K Battlegrounds, Warface: Clutch, NHL 22, and NHL 23.

While six games are confirmed for XBOX Game Pass in August 2026 and 20 new XBOX releases are coming this week, several older titles are reaching the end of their online support.

According to PureXbox, five shutdowns have been confirmed so far. Additional closures could still join the August schedule.

XBOX Server Shutdowns on August 20

Two 2K games will lose their online server support on August 20:

• NBA 2K Playgrounds 2
• WWE 2K Battlegrounds

Players who still need online achievements or multiplayer progress should complete them before the servers close.

Warface: Clutch Shuts Down on August 25

Warface: Clutch will shut down on August 25.

The free-to-play shooter will no longer remain available after its servers close. The developer described the decision to end support as difficult but necessary.

NHL 22 and NHL 23 Servers Close on August 31

EA will close the online servers for two NHL games at the end of August:

• NHL 22
• NHL 23

Both games will lose access to their online features on August 31. NHL 22 launched in 2021, while NHL 23 followed in 2022.

More XBOX Server Closures Are Coming in September

Three more games currently have online shutdowns planned for September:

• HAWKED
• GRID Legends
• Sociable Soccer 25

The September list could expand as publishers announce additional server closures.

In other XBOX news, 34 more games have received handheld support, including 20 handheld-optimized titles and 14 handheld-compatible games.
