If the EarnIn app isn’t working, the problem might be on the server side and not your device every time. A failed login, missing earnings, a disconnected bank account, or an unavailable Cash Out button can each have a different cause. EarnIn’s official troubleshooting points to app updates, account verification, bank connections, GPS or work verification, and repayment status as some of the main things to check. If the EarnIn app isn’t loading or letting you log in, here’s how to fix it.

Here’s how to fix EarnIn app when it’s not working

1. Update EarnIn and restart your phone

Start with the simple stuff before changing your bank connection or account details. EarnIn recommends using the latest version of both the app and your phone’s operating system, particularly when the app crashes or refuses to work normally.

  1. Open the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Check for an EarnIn update.
  3. Install any available update.
  4. Restart your phone.
  5. Open EarnIn and try again.

If the app keeps crashing, EarnIn recommends reinstalling it on iPhone. On Android, you can clear EarnIn’s stored app data from your phone’s app settings.

2. Check your login if EarnIn won’t let you sign in

If EarnIn is not letting you log in, check that you are using the correct phone number and login details. A changed phone number can require help from support, while entering an incorrect password more than six times can temporarily lock the account for 30 minutes.

  1. Turn off any VPN on your phone.
  2. Make sure EarnIn is updated.
  3. Check that your phone number and email are correct.
  4. If you have been locked out after repeated password attempts, wait 30 minutes.
  5. If you are not receiving the OTP code, check whether EarnIn’s messages are being blocked.
  6. Try logging in again.

If you can’t access the app at all, EarnIn says you can use the question-mark icon on the login screen to contact support.

3. Reconnect your bank account

A bank connection problem can make the EarnIn app appear broken even when the app itself is working. EarnIn says banks may experience outages or authentication problems that temporarily prevent the connection from working through its banking-data provider.

  1. First, sign in to your bank directly through its official app or website.
  2. Make sure there are no alerts or verification requests waiting.
  3. Return to EarnIn and check your linked bank account.
  4. If necessary, reconnect the account.
  5. Make sure you have selected the correct bank.
  6. Try again later if your bank is experiencing an outage.

EarnIn also says it supports checking accounts for this connection and not savings or prepaid accounts. Recently opened bank accounts may also need 24 to 48 hours before they can be connected.

4. EarnIn Cash Out is not working

If the Cash Out button is missing or you can’t transfer your earnings using the EarnIn app, that doesn’t necessarily mean the app is broken. EarnIn lists several reasons why Cash Out may be unavailable, including having no available earnings, reaching your daily or pay-period limit, or EarnIn being unable to determine your pay schedule or direct-deposit history. Your work verification can also matter. EarnIn says GPS-based earnings verification requires location permissions, while work-email verification may require your earnings information to be properly verified.

5. Check if your EarnIn account is on hold

If a previous EarnIn debit couldn’t be taken from your linked bank account, your account may be placed on hold. In that situation, features including Cash Out, Cash Out Link, and Live Pay can become unavailable until the repayment issue is resolved. Check the app for a repayment prompt and make sure the required debit has been completed. If EarnIn already debited your account but the app still shows the payment as pending, support may need to verify it manually.

Why is EarnIn not working?

The important thing is to identify what part of EarnIn has stopped working. An app that crashes needs different troubleshooting from an account that will not allow Cash Out. Meanwhile, bank connections can also be delayed because banks do not always provide real-time information through EarnIn’s banking-data provider. EarnIn says pulling down on the Home screen can refresh the displayed balance, and reconnecting the bank may help if the delay continues.

Summing Up

Before contacting support, take a screenshot of the exact error and note whether the problem affects login, bank connection, earnings, Cash Out, or repayment. That can make it much easier to explain what went wrong and avoid repeating the same basic troubleshooting steps.
