Forza Horizon 6 Dev Warns of Franchise-Wide & Hardware Bans for Playing Leaked Version
If you have been following latest news around Forza Horizon 6, you probably know that early PC builds reportedly leaked online over the weekend. Needless to say, there are multiple reports online claiming that some players have reportedly booted up playable builds ahead of release. Now, the studio behind the game has stepped in with a strict warning.
Playground Games breaks silence on Forza Horizon 6 leak
In a post on X from a few hours ago, Playground Games distanced the leak from any pre-load system issue, confirming it was not an accidental rollout. The studio made it clear that this was not a backend mistake.
Not to mention, Playground Games has issued a strict warning for those playing the leaked version ahead of the official release date.
In the post, Playground Games noted, “We are aware of reports that a build of Forza Horizon 6 has been obtained prior to its release and can confirm this is not the result of a pre-load issue. We are taking strict enforcement action against any individuals found accessing this build including franchise-wide and hardware bans. We encourage fans to sit tight for the game’s release on May 19.”
At least one player has allegedly been handed a ban until the year 9999
Not to forget, after reports of the leak started circulating, a viral screenshot widely shared online suggested that at least one player who allegedly played the leaked Forza Horizon 6 was handed a ban until the year 9999. Yes, you read that correct. Although the details regarding that specific ban are unconfirmed, Playground Games’ stance on accessing the leaked build suggests it won’t shy away from implementing such drastic measures.
As of now, the leak itself appears to be limited to PC, with no confirmed Xbox build circulating. As always, we recommend refraining from accessing the leaked build and waiting for the official launch date to enjoy the game.
