Forza Horizon 6 Reportedly Leaked Online Ahead of Launch

Reports surfaced just days before the May 15 launch

forza horizon 6 prerelease

According to reports circulating across gaming communities, Forza Horizon 6 may have leaked online ahead of its official release. The reports surfaced shortly after new details appeared regarding the game’s Xbox Series X|S performance modes.

According to Neowin, community discussions claim that full game files for the Premium Edition started appearing on piracy forums and sharing hubs several days before launch. If the reports are accurate, some players may already have early access to the game through unofficial copies.

Reports point to an unencrypted Steam build

The reported release schedule currently places Premium Edition access on May 15, while the Standard Edition is expected to launch on May 19. According to the claims, the leak may have originated from Valve and its Steam servers after an allegedly unencrypted build was uploaded accidentally.

Normally, developers allow players to preload large titles before release while keeping the files encrypted until launch day. This prevents early access even if the files are already downloaded onto a system.

However, reports claim that a fully unencrypted 155GB Premium Edition build was uploaded instead. As a result, users allegedly gained access to playable files before the official release window, with the build quickly spreading online afterward.

Pirates reportedly already playing offline

Some community claims also suggest that pirates are already playing the game through offline methods. Those reports remain unverified, and there has been no confirmation regarding how functional the leaked build actually is.

Downloading pirated game files also carries significant risks. Unofficial builds can contain modified code, malware, trojans, credential stealers, or other harmful software capable of compromising systems and accounts.

So far, neither Microsoft nor Playground Games has officially commented on the reported leak.

In related Forza Horizon 6 news, Microsoft has also revealed a limited-edition controller and headset tied to the game’s launch. The company previously showcased the officially revealed Japan summer map for the upcoming racer as well.
